Let It Be: My First Programming Lesson Came from a Beatles Song
Three Principles, and a Time Capsule
This site runs on constraint-driven design: rules over taste, constraints over freedom. Turns out my life needed those same rules. Here are the three that survived my story:
- Inspiration is cheap. That click that starts a project? It costs nothing. The focus that finishes it costs everything.
- Shipping ugly beats not shipping. A game that exists will teach you more than some masterpiece you deleted.
- Going deep beats going broad. Build one good shovel instead of dreaming about the whole mine.
And now the honest part, the time capsule part. I haven't built that world-changing product yet. No open-world masterpiece, no platform selling shovels. But who's to say it won't happen tomorrow? The point of this story was never that I arrived. It's that I stopped strangling my work and started letting it grow.
I'm keeping my head down and pushing forward, and I'd love for you to come along with me. Follow the site, watch what gets built, laugh at what doesn't. I'll be here, writing about the practice, the pitfalls, and the occasional Beatles song that saves me.
It's late again, and the monitor is still the only light in my room. But that monster that once sat on this screen is gone, and in its place, small, sharp things that actually ship. My code and my life are just getting started.
